Tea bushes plucked flat, terraced across a highland slope.

From the highlands of East Africa to the world.

Dorsa sources and packs exceptional teas from the highlands of East Africa, connecting the region's tea-growing heritage with markets around the world.

  1. Source

Bought at the garden, across six countries of the East African tea belt.

  2. Blend and pack

Built to your profile and held there, then packed to the format your market asks for.

  3. Export

Papers, freight and delivery to your port — so you never have to build the supply chain yourself.

See what each step involves

Our story

A better future can begin with something as simple as tea.

Tea is more than a crop. Across East Africa it supports farmers, families, workers, businesses and communities. Yet much of the value created from tea sits far from the people and places where it begins.

We believe there is an opportunity to build more value closer to home.

Dorsa exists to connect exceptional tea from East Africa with global markets while creating opportunities for local value addition, meaningful employment and responsible growth along the way.

Our sustainability commitment

We are committed to sustainable practices

We support five of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals — the ones a tea business can actually act on. For each, here is what we are committed to and what we do about it. Buy from us and your order backs all five.

Our vision and mission

Vision

To make East African tea a globally recognised source of quality, opportunity and responsible growth.

Mission

To source, craft and connect exceptional East African tea with customers around the world while creating greater value across the tea value chain.

We do this by combining trusted sourcing relationships, quality packing, thoughtful product development and reliable export capabilities with a commitment to the people and communities behind our tea.

Our core values

  • Quality

We respect the leaf, the process and the people behind every cup.

  • Integrity

We build relationships on transparency, accountability and trust.

  • Value creation

We look beyond selling tea to creating meaningful value across the supply chain.

  • Stewardship

We take responsibility for the people, communities and environments connected to our work.

The idea behind Dorsa

Ms. Saina, who founded Dorsa.

Dorsa was founded by Ms. Saina, whose connection to tea began long before the company was established.

Growing up around the tea-growing regions of East Africa, she was exposed to the people, businesses and experts whose lives and work were connected to the crop. Tea was never simply something on a shelf. It was part of the landscape, the economy and the communities around her.

Over time she began to see a gap. East Africa produces some of the world's finest teas, yet there remains an opportunity to create greater value between the farm and the final consumer. Too often the region's role is concentrated in production, while the branding, packing, product development and market access happen elsewhere.

What if more of that journey could happen here?

What if exceptional tea could be sourced from East Africa, thoughtfully packed and developed here, and then taken confidently to customers around the world? And what if that growth could create opportunities for the people who make the industry possible?

That question became Dorsa. Today it is being built toward one relationship, one pack and one market at a time.

Built for businesses that want to do more with tea

Whether you are building your own tea brand, sourcing for retail, hospitality or institutional markets, or looking for a reliable East African tea partner, Dorsa can help you move from idea to finished product — without having to build the entire supply chain yourself.

From our highlands to your table

Every Dorsa tea begins with a place, a garden, a community and a person who knows the leaf. Our role is to carry that forward, adding value at every step until it reaches someone, somewhere in the world.
